It has been a while since I have posted a full posting, but I promise it was because life just got in the way. Now that the biggest part of the year is over, it’s now downhill from here.
This past week got me thinking about friendships. Generally, I feel that the small circle of friends I have are really good friends and that is great. This week one of my friends expressed that they felt that all of my conversations are negative. Of course, I disagree with this because, my views are my views. That does not make them wrong, negative, etc. It makes them different and as friends we should just agree to disagree. Of course, from my point of view it sounded like this person was saying that everything they said would be considered perfect, positive, etc. Again, those views are just different, not better. It’s sort of sad when you think about it.
I think when they brought up some of the things I had vented about to make a point, that is a concern for me. As a friend, you never bring up any of those conversations to benefit yourself in a disagreement. A lesson learned with discussing anything.
I have to say that this situation did not make me upset, but it just got me thinking… Who are your friends?? What makes them a friend? When you meet different people I think these questions are valid. At 40 I have learned so many lessons about people and friendships. It makes me appreciate the small circle of friends I do have.
