First, let me preface this by stating that I am BzzAgent and I was provided this product to try and give my opinion.
I received this product in June, and I admit that I was a bit apprehensive to try it, mostly because I had finally made the decision to go natural and I did not want to try anything that would “straighten” it out chemically. First, I did a bit of research, and then today, decided to give it a try. I decided to try it, mostly, because it is only supposed to tame your hair. It is not a relaxer.
Here is a shot of all of the items included within the packaging. No I bought the comb separate. Lol 🙂
Here is a picture of my hair prior to application. As you can see, I have a lot of new growth, that has been growing out for the past year.
Here’s a picture of my hair after application and rinsing. As you can see, my hair is really thick and difficult to lay down, even when wet. Having said that,it was truly easy to comb. Think detangler, in a way.
This is me after. Normally, when I flat iron my hair myself, it is not soft and it remains in that puffy state after a few minutes. So far so good :-).
Overall, my impression of Smooth ‘N Shine Polishing Semi-Permanent Hair Tamer, was impressive, so far. My hair is usually difficult to comb and is normally very tangled. After applying the products I was able to comb it while still maintaining the normal look of my hair. Currently , my hair is soft, and bouncy. It was easy to use, and I did follow the instructions (minus the fact that I shaved five minutes off the stay on time and did not use the entire tube of the Protein Smoothing Treatment). Prior to using it, I did complete the strand test.
I will know in a few weeks if it actually has the short term (about 5 washes) effects as described. However, so far so good.
