I am a Lowe’s lover and when I found out that they had the Build and Grow clinics for children, I was excited. I immediately went online to find out more information at www.lowesbuildandgrow.com
This summer they were doing the Dreamworks series featuring characters from Kung Fu Panda, Shrek, Madagascar, etc. We were lucky enough to experience two of the classes in Mansfield, Texas.
When we arrived, we got signed in and were given aprons, kid-sized hammers and the kits. We then proceeded to the table where we found the safety goggles that you are required to wear for safety. I personally appreciated the lengths they went through to make sure the kids were safe :-). The kids then began to assemble the kits into an Assault Vehicle and Stacking Friends (on two separate dates) – with their dad and my help. The kits came equipped with detailed instructions, which made the assembly easy. In all, I think that it took about 20 minutes to put together. When we were done we gathered all of the items and the creation and returned the hammer. The great thing about returning the hammer, they exchanged it for an iron-on patch.
Overall, we loved it and will be going back for other classes. It is just good to know that these types of activities exist for free.
