Our Villainous Tween #DisneySide Mardi-Gras Celebration!

March 1, 2015 by Raquel 1 Comment

“I received free products in order to host a DisneySide @Home Celebration. The opinions expressed here are my own. ” A special THANK-YOU to the entire Disney Parks team, MomSelect and all of the awesome sponsors who provided their products to make our party unforgettable.

So many awesome goodies!!

As you know (from a few of my previous posts), I was chosen to host a #DisneySide @Home Celebration with a Villian Tween theme. As a Disney Fan, I must say that I was so excited, not just for me, but for my daughter (Kelsey) who is 12 years old.  What made the planning even better, I had to include very little to make the party magical.

We started out the day with completing our Tie Dye cupcakes, which was a cake mix provided by celebrity baker Duff Goldman by Gartner Studios.  I used just three colors, because we had a Mardi Gras theme, and they turned out great (If I must say so myself). Well actually, the kids ate them all up, so that counts for something right? ;o)

Of course, no party is complete without food, right? I wanted to stay with the villain (Mardi-Gras ish) theme so I created the following: Dr. Facilier’s Jammin’ Jambalaya, Maleficent’s Muffalattas (Hawaiian rolls with the sandwich fixings), Ursula’s Poor Unfortunate Souls Pasta Salad, and the Queen of Hearts Pretzel Mix (another Pinterest creation).

We were also provided nail polish, manicure supplies and nail art cards (they were a hit!). The only thing that I added was some remover, cotton swabs and additional colors we already had.

To add to the decor for the celebration, I displayed my Disney Villains – Designer Collection Maleficent doll, in addition to the key fobs I made, HP Photo Paper (CMYK) packs and Disney Vacation Planning DVD’s.

While some of the tweens painted their nails and played the Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved game for the XBox 360 a few of the young ladies took the time to create bracelets with the My Image Bracelet Maker Kit provided by My Image Bracelets, and I think that they turned out great!

Thankfully, my friend Kirsten helped me to set up for the party and brought the Mardi Gras beads. Also a special thank you to both Kirsten (right) and Christina (left) because they helped Kelsey find her retainer (Tweens & Retainers – smh). And, we can not forget The Dude, my 6 year old son?

They were a great bunch and we were honored to have them show their #DisneySide with us!

After the party, the only thing left to do was clean up and relax with a cup of Twinings Tea (provided by Twinings of London) AND plan our next Walt Disney World / Disney Cruise vacation this summer.

Until Next Time!
