Travel A Great Time at the Spring Tech & Travel Show #TNTFtWorth April 6, 2015

I was
recently invited to attend the #TNTFtWorth Spring Tech & Travel Show/ luncheon
March 25, 2015, and I was super excited. The event was sponsored by
Techlicious, Traveling Moms, TNTChevy, VEX Robotics (HEXBUG), Visit Fort Worth,
Sheraton Fort Worth Hotel and Spa, and Consumer Electronics Association.

The event
was held at the Fort Worth Sheraton Hotel and Spa, and it was truly a beautiful
location in the heart of downtown Fort Worth. My family and I have taken a few
family “field trips” to Fort Worth and have loved every bit of it,
from riding the T from Dallas, to visiting the Fort Worth Zoo and other
locations. After I spoke with the representative, Fort Worth definitely has so
much more to offer.
The Fort
Worth Sheraton Hotel and Spa has just completed a multi-million dollar,
property-wide transformation and it showed. They are now able to host the needs
of all guests from families, to business travelers, and leisure weekenders.
What I found interesting was the SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) app. Did you
know that this app will unlock your door (with the Keyless Setting) while
you are a guest? Can you say
cool? I got to take a tour of two of the rooms the Fort Worth Sheraton
Hotel and Spa has to offer, and let me tell you that the rooms were huge and
decorated to show how one can make the room an inviting, family-friendly
atmosphere.

Did
you know that the new Chevrolet Suburban is equipped with wireless technology
that includes My Link with Text Messaging Alerts and Siri Eyes Free? With more
families taking more vacations and road trips, it is nice to know that they
will be able to use their devices and have access to everything including
Onstar’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity. The Chevrolet Suburban has thought
of everything and for a family like mine, and it is good to know that features
likes the conversation mirror, hand-free lift gate operation and up to 6 UBS
posts and power outlets are included.  I do not know about you, but it
makes me want to go for a test drive.

I noticed the HEXBUG area and knew that I had to find out more information
because this is a product I have seen and heard about but have never actually
tried it in person. Their entire line of products is so innovative and kids
will love putting it together and having hours of fun and interactive STEM
learning. I was lucky enough to receive my own VEX Robotics Ant by HEXBUG, and
I am so impressed with it. It has 150 intuitive, tool-less pieces and there are
sensors in the tail and antenna that helps the Ant determine the next move
after bumping into walls or other objects. It includes a remote control, and
has different programming settings, which intrigued my family. Look at it go!
For
those that are interested in installing products that was not
originally included in their cars, there are after-market products to bring the newest
technology to your car. The average car is about 11 years old, so it makes
sense to add the technology to your current vehicle instead of buying a brand
new car before you are ready to. I got super giddy when I saw the Pioneer
AVIC-7100NEX multimedia receiver with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that
allows you to control your devices from the in-dash system. You can even ask
Siri a question or avoid traffic with Google Maps ($1200 – PioneerElectronics.com).
There are other enhancements you can add to your car that will enhance the
audio and even allow remote start up and diagnostics. The first step is to connect
with the Consumer Electronics Association (www.ce.org)
for this and more information and then find a qualified installer who is MECP
(Mobile Electronic Certified Professional) certified.

The Traveling Moms also gave a presentation of products that will come in handy during any family road trip and vacation. Some of the products that caught my eye were the CyberPower (CPS150BURC1) Mobile Power Adapter ($39 on Walmart.com) which is a regular outlet for charging your laptop and a USB port for your smartphone and tablets. This especially comes in handy when I need to complete my blog posts while I am on the go. Another innovative product was the Wagan 7-liter Personal Fridge/Warmer ($35 – Walmart.com) that plugs into your car’s 12v outlet in your car.

This event not only included all of the wonderful products and sponsors, but we were treated to a fabulous lunch and guacamole demonstration with Chef Ana Wyatt and Chef Morris Sherman with the Fort Worth Sheraton Hotel and Spa.

I
had a wonderful time, and cannot wait to experience this event and others like
it in the future.
