Sadly, A New Dishwasher is in our Future

I guess no matter how much I try to fight it, it is time for
new kitchen appliances.

Boom, Boom, Clack, Boom! What is that sound? Well, I am glad
that you asked. It apparently is my dishwasher letting me know that it is just
about time to “Let it Go” and break up. I have been seeing this coming for a
while now and I have tried long and hard to ignore it, but surely there is still some
life left until a suitable
replacement is found. Check him out! He has been with us for almost 16 years (had
him installed when we built the house) and he’s been good to us.

Now the hard part…. How in the world does will I choose an
appropriate dishwasher that will fit our needs and do what we need done a
daily basis? I can’t even find a pair of shoes that fit perfectly most days,
let alone a dishwasher or any appliance that will be with us for many years to
come (hopefully). Or at least until I hit the lottery and buy a huge house with
custom appliances.

There are so many different dishwashers to choose from that it is all very confusing and overwhelming. Of course,
why be confused about a dishwasher, when I have at least 3-4 dishwashers on the
payroll at any given time (my family). There are those with the stainless steel
interiors and double spinning blades. Built-in and drawer models. Front or Top
Controls. Price range from about $250 to about $1700 (or more) with certain decibels
(really? In a dishwasher?). Whew, I am so glad
that the higher priced dishwashers are out of my budget, so that makes our decision easier.

I have a budget in mind, but research is key so that I can make the right decision for me and my
family. It is truly time for a kitchen makeover, but how do I move on when our appliances have been with us so long
(they are a part of the family). No matter what, we will be upgrading the
kitchen slowly but surely, because I would love to have some new gadgets to
play with while I am in the kitchen (Oh and while I am cooking?). Once it is all said and done maybe
JUST maybe I might be able to start cooking more – MAYBE!

If there are any readers out there that have some brand and
feature recommendations, please let me know. It would be nice to have some
input and give myself a starting point in the research phase.
