Our Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Dallas and Deadpool Date!

February 15, 2016 by Raquel Leave a Comment

This past weekend, my husband and I had the opportunity to go out without the kids!! We had fun, and though we were not gone long, it was good just to get away for a bit.

We went to see DeadPool (starring Ryan Reynolds) at the new Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Dallas, Texas on South Lamar.

The cinema was in it’s “Soft Opening” phase, but I have to say that it was a great experience. The first thing that attracted us to this cinema was its location. It is located in the downtown Dallas area of town, but not in the heart of it, which makes parking and getting there pretty easy. As we walked in, the kiosk were readily available and all I had to do was swipe the credit card that I used to make the reservation (this is pretty much like it is at some other similar theaters).
The decor was eclectic and very red, but warm at the same time. This was impressive.
We walked into the theater and took our reserved seats. The seats were comfy and they reclined. The waiter came by and explained how things work, and I have to say that I was pleasantly shocked. To order, you must write down your selections and place it back in the place holder for the waiter. This was great, because we were able to write down exactly what we wanted and that eliminates any confusion.

As the movie began, our food was delivered, and we loved the taste of our food. My husband ordered the Gyro, and I ordered the Royale with Cheese Burger in a bowl (meaning that it did not include the bun). The only thing that I was skeptical of was that it was so dark and I could not see my food. There is a light under the table, but having to pick my food up and place it under the light was weird, for me. Otherwise, it was truly an enjoyable experience and we will be back!

Now, I can not end this without saying something about DeadPool!

We are Marvel fans, and as soon we heard this movie was coming, we knew we had to check it out. The movie was an absolute hilariously-stupid, action-packed experience, and I could not believe the words that were coming out of their mouths (this is a good thing, trust me). I laughed so much, and if there were cameras, the look on my face would have told the hilarious tale. Ryan Reynolds did a great job portraying Wade Wilson and there were some interesting cameos. The movie is definitely NOT for kids, so my suggestion would be to leave them at home. I do not want to give away any details, so I will end this here.

Overall, if you will be visiting or live near the downtown Dallas area, be sure to visit the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, and while you are there, check out Deadpool.
This was my personal opinion and experience. I was not compensated in ANY WAY.

Until Next Time!
