Every morning I take the same exact route to work along the highway into Downtown Dallas and a few miles down. As a result, each morning I see nothing but bikes! Green ones, Orange ones, Yellow Ones and Sliver Ones (Oh My)! I’m sure there are way more bikes out there, but these are the ones I see the most.
Please understand, I get the bike-share concept and I think the idea is brilliant! However, how many bikes and bike companies does one city need? It’s so many that I not only see them in the Downtown Dallas area but I see them way south of the city and other locations and think,”wow, someone rode that bike all the way out here”?
I have a few suggestions that may help (not that anyone has asked but still..).
- Because there are so many, perhaps have each company cover a different section of the city. Otherwise, it’s so overwhelming to choose the right one, I would think.
- I’m sure this is not possible, but a good sanitizing could do wonders. I often wonder about germs, etc. I’m sure there’s not much that can be done about that, but I figured I would put it out there.
- I see a lot of the school students using the bikes in the area where I work. Perhaps the companies can visit the local school district to offer a discount code for those students that want to use them. Matter of fact, each morning I see the same two students riding the bikes and I always think about how much they are actually spending to ride it.
Have you seen all of the new memes that exist? They are funny but are actually pretty accurate.
See, again, it’s a great concept but maybe there could be some tweaks. Personally, I plan to give them a try before I give my final opinion on the subject.
What do you think of the bike-share concept?
Until Next Time!
