It’s the New Year and if you are like me, you are dreaming
of your next vacation. As an educator, I am longing for our first major
break – SPRING BREAK! Well this year, I definitely want to
experience something semi-new for us and have narrowed it down a bit to fit our
budget and dates.

There is one problem… AIRFARE!! I know, I know. If I want
lower airfare, then I must travel during non-spring break times. But why is
that? It would seem that during this time, the airlines would make a substantial
amount of money and they would make so many people happy (of course all of this
is in my head).

My main concern is that we are considering a trip to Florida (and we all
know that it is a prime location for family vacations for obvious reasons). Why
must the cost of those Florida flights be so expensive? Don’t get me wrong, I
get it and obviously this is poor planning on my part for not planning sooner. However, when tickets, during that time, cost
about $300 (at the time of this blog post), that would be well over our
transportation budget, leaving little to spend should we go that route. There is always to option to drive, but with only a week of vacation, that might not be the best decision as far as time constraints.

I have other locations in mind as well such as Hilton Head,
and maybe skiing (not sure if March is a good time to go). However, don’t cry for me, I am
sure that no matter what, we will still have a good time no matter where we are
and what we decide to do. Who knows, we may scrape the proposed locations and
do a “staycation” right here in Texas.

Vent Over… Carry On!
Until Next Time!
