My family and I just returned from a wonderful visit and stay at the Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge Downtown Riverfront (during the 4th of July weekend, July 1-5, 2016). This hotel more than met my expectations. I am not sure what I was expecting, but being our first time, I was nervous about the atmosphere, the rooms, the customer service, and after this stay, I had nothing to worry about. We chose this hotel because from the research it seemed to be family and pet friendly for the right price.
We arrived about 10:30 PM and was met with the valet and front desk representative. Both were absolutely remarkable and immediately, I felt at ease. We arrived upstairs, but because of a slight issue with the room, they sent assistance to move us to a new room. We had no issues with this because the room we were moved to was a bit bigger and had a great view. Also, a bigger room was a necessity because we had Numberly (our Boston Terrier) with us.
The beds were super comfy, and had the softest bedding as we just “sank” in when we went to bed. Look at the rooms! Hardwood floors, and soft rug and a perfect color scheme throughout.
I mentioned the views that we had… Only two words could actually describe it: Absolutely Amazing!!! We had a view of the river and the bridge, which was great because I was able to map out our day from the window.
Another reason this hotel gets 8 thumbs up from my family is because they allow dogs (for a $50 fee per stay). Numberly loved it and did so well. When she got on the elevator, she sat down and waited for the doors to open, and when we returned from our day, she lead us to the door. What was even better was that the park was diagonally across the street and was a quick walk, which was convenient.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel. The Manager was a joy. She talked to us and told us about the hotel dog and how protective he was over the hotel and asked about how we were doing on more than one occasion. Also, the valet actually took the time to thank us for staying with the Hotel Indigo. He said without customers like us, they would not be where they were. I found that endearing that he just wanted to thank us so that we would know we were appreciated. He was going to be off of work the next day and wasn’t due back until the following Tuesday (that is when we checked out). The front desk representative was so helpful and informative, she and I even connected over hair while she checked me in. What a staff!! Thank you for all you did to make our stay wonderful.
If all of the Hotel Indigo hotels and staff are equally inviting and welcoming as the Downtown Baton Rouge location, Hotel Indigo will see more of my family in the future. When we return to Baton Rouge, we will definitely stay there again.
Until Next Time!
